Hi Andy. You can compete with a two wheeled vehicle with a groom, (Rule 5.1). We accept entries with two wheelers at Wessex Driving Club. We have an event this Sunday at Motcombe, Shaftesbury, you are very welcome to come along to watch. Julia

Found you, Andy - Dorset!
Did I answer your whole question?
Only small ponies ( 11hh and under) can compete in the qualifier classes with one person in a two-wheeler.
Bigger ponies and other singles must have the driver and groom on the carriage. The groom may sit beside or stand behind the driver.
Again, check with your local organiser, please.

Hi, Andy... measure the trackwidth on the ground, outside of one track to the outside of the other.
Needs to be 125cms or more.

If it’s less, phone and ask your nice ICD local organiser if you can go in their club class, if they run one. If not, they might let you compete anyway - most people won’t complain about you until you start winning! Or you might have to compete hc, which means not in the competition (so you don’t get a rosette).

The cones are 140-145cms apart. If your carriage is wider than about 130cms, you will have to drive very carefully!

I don’t know where you are however we’re very keen to welcome newcomers in all areas so do find out what’s possible? Don’t give up! We share ponies, carriages, grooms: I am hoping you will get a positive outcome.

Can you compete with a 12.3hh pony in a two wheeled vehicle if it is the right width?
Is the width measured from outside wheel to outside wheel, rather than to the outside of the mudguards which is the widest part of the vehicle?
It is a proper manufactured vehicle with solid wheels not a var/www made bodged one
