No areas hold a seperate class for small ponies ( at least I don't think so but please correct me if I am wrong ! ) as there is not enough competitors driving a single to the same level of experience i.e novice or open or multiplies to make a separate class viable .Having said that we have a ever growing number of small pony people at Forest Edge ( & doing very well in their respective class ) which is really great to see & who knows in the future we may just take over ! As Rita has stated elsewhere there is only a small pony class at the championships which is entered for by invitation . Last year was the first time this class was held & we had a very good entry & some hot but very friendly competition taken from all areas of 9 pairs & 5 singles . This is better than the support of some of the other classes at Keysoe So the future looks bright for all short hairy legged competitors ( ponies that is not you driver,s ! ) I for one hope to see our numbers increase year on year as at last this is a sport that we can join in have lots of fun & be as good if not better than our bigger equine cousins & yes there are judges out there who really can see good paces & precision regardless of how long your legs are !Happy Driving Janet Sycamore |

Thank you for this. For a minute I thought a fight was going to break out in the other thread. ... and as for that "waiting list" thread I dont even like to go there on a dark evening like this. But without wishing to be a branded a trouble-maker has anyone else noticed that the "small pony" and "horse" classes are usually regrettably small but the "pony" classes are enormous. All the best, John S |

All Small Pony drivers please make sure your organiser has noted you as Small Pony on the results. If not shown you will not be noted as such on the Points League and may loose the chance to compete at Keysoe. Please note: the maximum height for Small Ponies = 11hands + shoes if worn as announced when these classes were started a couple of season past. |
