I have my Cheval Liberte Optimax 4 for sale. 5 years old, bought new. It's had very little use in the time that I've owned it, as it wasn't used at all through Covid lockdown, and we didn't use it last year, so it's in amazing condition...as new. We've only ever travelled 2 mini Shetlands, a mini cob baby, and a Welsh section A baby , all very well behaved, and no shod ponies have ever been in it. It has 3 moveable, telescopic and skirted partitions, so it can carry 4 full sized horses, opening skylights, fully opening window sections, making it very airy on board for down time at shows, a mesh roller blind over the rear ramp, extra tie points in the back for securing a carriage (again adjustable on sliders), there is a rug rack fitted (was an optional extra) making a safe place to travel a carriage pole, or shafts, tie rails on either side on the outside wall, and a top quality blue tooth camera in the horse area, so that your groom/passenger can observe your ponies as they travel . The rear ramp operates as a ramp, or as an opening door. There is no awkward step from ramp to trailer floor to manhandle a carriage in, and being quite low floored, it makes loading horses or carriages easy. The lockable tack area at the front is more than adequate for the needs of 4 competing horses, or harness requirements. We tow with a Landrover Discovery, and this trailer tows beautifully, without the rattles and noise that the equivalent Ifor Williams is known for. We've had no scrapes or dinks to this trailer inside or out. All flooring is beautifully sealed, with no visible wear and tear to the non slip rubber, all padding is good, and partition skirts are all sound. The partitions are easy to slide to whatever position you need them by slackening off bolts then re tightening them. I had extra tie loops fitted before buying it, so it's easy to ratchet strap a carriage securely in the back. The ramps are very user friendly and accessible, and the ponies travel so well in it, I've never had loading issues, and never had a pony sweat up or stress in it. I find my 13.1hh traditional mini cob happily stands across the first space, with very little angle to the partition.
Manufacturers specifications are easily found online, and give all the internal measurements you may need, but we have measured the narrowest part of the rear ramp doorway, and the narrowest internal floor width (inside the wheel arches), and both measure 178cm. The trailer is sold with 2 VERY heavy duty wheel clamps, a heavy duty hitch lock, and a secondary hitch lock too.
My only reason for selling up is my health is not brilliant, and this winter looking after my ponies has been just too much for me, so I'm clearing out of my ponies after 35 years of owning them. It's going to be hard, but the time is right unfortunately.
I know the new price for these trailers is in the region of £15,000 to £17,000, without the extras I had fitted to this one.
I'm looking for £12,000 or very nearest offer cash for mine. Its clean and ready to go.
