I hope that "Thank you" was a phrase heard a lot at the weekend because you all worked very hard to make the event a big success, and everyone I spoke to had a good time. It was definitely a highlight of the driving year for me. Yes, it was difficult to cope with more competitors and there are always tweaks demanded to make the event even better. Even the BHDTA turned up! "Thank you" for all your hard work!

Hi Everyone
Yes, the Nat Finals were a great success even if the P&P phase was outdoors! With so many competitors it was really difficult to have all phases indoors, and some of us wanted to sleep during the weekend.

It is now my turn to say thank you to all competitors, who were where they should be when they should be there, timing is so important at indoor events. We ran to time throughout the whole event, and we finished when we should have done and this was due to the co-operation of all competitors. Thank you all.

Did you find the P&P judging harsh? what did you think of the test? should it have been a little more difficult for the Finals? Were the obstacles to your liking? what about the bridge? did it add excitment to the course? Any thoughts or ideas how to improve the sport please lets us know.

I understand the arena at College EC is to be extended by 40metres, that will make it easier next year. Note for your diary: 2004 National Finals first weekend in April 3-4.
Look on foto-forum.co.uk for photos from the Keysoe.
Enjoy the summer events, see you all next winter.

Hello Rita
Asking questions about what competitors want could be shooting yourself in the foot but here is our feedback for what it’s worth:
P&P- No harsh judging here but it was very distracting out of doors, and that wind!
Cones-Complexity just to slow people down, not at all flowing, built to favour a long stride.
Obstacles-Practically everybody went the same way so it was evident that they were far too limited on options, particularly 1 and 3. Seemed to us they were set up to provide a flat out blind as a spectacle and not to test control in tight situations, there should have been at least the option to go fast and far or slower and shorter. The bridge was fine it added another element to the equasion and certainly caught us out!
