Hi Janet, Do you have any pictures of your carriages, or perhaps I could come and find you at Keysoe, presume you are going? I currently also have a (very!) modified Fenix as my 4 wheeler for local club outdoor stuff - I really hope Mr Broadbent never sees what we have done to it though! Its definitely a gap in the market - from what I could see the majority of vehicles are just made far too narrow - or at 120cm, which is plain unfair! | ||

Hi Phillipa........ we build carriages both two & four wheeled suitable for IHDT with 125cm axle width especially for mini & standard shetlands very light but strong enough to withstand competition use & at a price that won't break the bank ! I have a bellcrown which we modified and works really well. There was a lady at the last morton morell who had a bennington that was specially made for her and i think they will be producing them in the future. | ||

I was wondering if there are any small pony - ie mini shetland size - 125cm axle 2 wheelers, which are available to buy? I haven't come across any so far, but probably haven't been looking in the right places!! I have modified (with the assistance of my mate Dave who welds stuff) a robinsons / ebay type exercise cart to make it the correct width - has the advantage of working out at a very reasonable price, and it remains very lightweight, but its not pretty! I would be very interested to know what other small pony drivers are using to compete with! | ||

Hi Lisa....... You can use any 2 or 4 wheeled vehicle that is of marathon/exercise style either on pnuematic or solid tyres If your carriage is under 125cm axle width you will have to compete HC which means although you compete against all the other driver's in your class you don't get a placing in the results unless you are in an area that runs a club/newcomers class ( non championship ) where almost anything goes providing you & your vehicle are safe & suitably constructed Also unless you are a junior you have the added bonus of not having to carry a groom if you are using a 2 wheeler ( but they must be in the arena with you in case of emergency ) . Hi, I am new to this and am wondering what sort of exercise vehicle you use for indoor driving / cones with a shetland. My shetland is just 36". I know you have a minimum width of 125cm (what happens if it is much less?) and can it be pneumatic tyres or hard ones? many thanks! Lisa |
