Dear Trial Competitors Well a new winter season is nearly upon us again. Hopefully everyone is having a good summer season so far? If you weren’t aware, there has been some changes to the set up to the Midlands Indoor Driving team this season, we would like to send our thanks to Jo Phelan for all the hard work she has done in the past and to Barbra who will be continuing to help out this season. Going forward we are looking for everyone to help out where possible by bringing in new people (drivers or non drivers welcome) into the Midlands Indoor Driving Trials / still providing prizes for raffles for every show and partaking in training days (Can you please let us know in what technical area you would like to have training on a training day? Our last training day ran at a loss. So if there isn’t enough interest there won’t be any training days). The provisional date is 12th Sept We will still be using Morton Morrell for this season with an extra show at Solihull in Feb 2011 to see if we could use this arena for future seasons. Can you please let me know your thoughts? There will be a slight change to the classes this season, there will still be the normal classes Novice, Open & Multiples etc. but this season we will be also holding a Club class with a cheaper entry cost (but this class won’t count/qualify for the IHDT Finals). This class will be great for new ponies & new novice drivers and for people who haven’t got carriages with the correct width etc. This season we are looking for sponsors to help raise money towards the costs to keep entry prices down and prolong our club. If you know anyone that is interested for this season the cost will start at £50, this will get them their name/company logo printed onto parts of the obstacles & possibly on the rosettes as well. We are hopefully going to have a specially organised class for our sponsors in the last show. We have managed to already gain sponsorship from a photographer who will be attending some shows; this will give us a chance to get some good quality photos from our shows. If there is enough interest there might be a chance for him to video, so you will be able to buy a DVD of your day’s competition. We also obtained a trailer to store our own set of equipment for the midlands area; this will be funded by our fund raising efforts. This will hopefully mean we will have better access to equipment. If anyone would like to contribute towards this it would be much appreciated?
