Survey results: Almost 55% always wear a hard hat when driving. 68% always wear strong shoes or boots, 77% always wear gloves. 1% always wear a body protector, 25% wear one sometimes and 70% never do. 27% have body protectors, 53% don’t and don’t plan to get one. Of those who have a body protector, 40% wear it when they compete and 52% never wear it at all. About half the respondents supported everyone on the carriage at nationals wearing a body protector for the marathon and two-thirds of them thought only for the obstacle driving section. The other half thought they should be entirely optional at all events. As we anticipated, there were lots of opinions on the topics. Thank you to everyone who took part. |

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete this survey. The results will be published in Inharness magazine and I'll put some details here and on the BHDTA forum. |

I'm conducting a survey on safety and horse driving. It's for drivers, grooms, helpers, friends and family, stewards, judges and anyone with an opinion. It's only seven questions: please take a moment to answer it? Thank you! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/9GR6XDQ |
