Wix EC Fancy Dress Results Independent and incorruptible judges Wally and Eunice Binder had a hard time judging this year, with a very high standard throughout the field. (See some pictures on www.mikewatts.com and wish you'd seen them for yourselves!) They placed the following turnouts: 1st: Janet Sycamore's Aladdin - with tinsel and turbans 2nd: Boyd Coote's Wallace and Gromit SWAT Team - with flashing light and flowing ears 3rd: Charlotte Snow's Little Red Riding Hood - with specs on Granny Ringo the pony and - was that mum Nina as the wolf? 4th: Jamie Weeks' Peter Pan and Captain Hook - scarily excellent outfits 5th: Tabitha King's Hiawatha - warpaint and gorgeous chief's feathers 6th: Christina Curran's Boudicca - magnificent, with Michael holding a golden trident, too. Thanks to everyone for making the effort! Thanks also to Absolute Horse magazine for a prize of a year's subscription to their magazine and to Wix EC for the rosettes. p.s. I must thank Mary Thornley and husband Peter, Mike Daniell and Claire Bourne for nobly judging P&P in the p..p..perishing cold for two hours, too. And Mike stayed to commentate all day... Yes, the event will run tomorrow! I've spoken to Wix and Dick Carey and I've been up and down the A12 myself today. Wix say all they roads are clear around them and the gritters are out at night. Dick says "what snow?" as he's hardly had any so, barring a huge dump of snow and ice tonight, we'll be there - most of us. Please call me if you are NOT coming!
