Sam - I'm sure you'll have fun, wherever you go! If you want to come and see us (on foot or on hoof), you will be very welcome, too. Fiona

Hi Fiona and Carole

I am in the hertfordshire area, this is our first time competing at a indoor driving event and just wanted to ease my pony into it gently. I'm not to worried about getting into any finals just want to try it out and have some fun :-)

Many thanks
Sam

Hi, Sam, where are you? In East Anglia we have club class for newcomers (optionally) and anyone with a new turnout or, say, a young pony. As Lindsey says, club classes don't count towards the Finals however they are intended to get you going, where you can "learn the ropes" and have the fun without any pressure (!). If your pony isn't used to going indoors or competing, it's a good idea to start gently and get you, your groom and pony used to the goings on. Do call your local event organiser: I'm sure he/she will give you good advice - and a welcome!

Hi Sam, Which area are you? I organize the North West region under the umbrella of Chester Driving Trials Group and we have Club classes but you do have to be a fully paid up member of our club. ( you don't also have to be a member of IHDT if only doing Club classes as our Club's Insurance covers you). Hope this is of some use to you! Enjoy the coming season!! ;-))

Hi there- and welcome.... Novice class is the best as these count towards the finals as where club class doesn't... Enjoy the indoor season!

Hi All

I am a newbie to this indoor driving and was just going to enter a class online, however there are so many classes to choose from.
As a newbie to the indoor sport do I go for Novice pony or Club class?

Many thanks
Sam
