Hi, Janet, what a good idea.

I encourage drivers to report their incidents and any accidents - on the roads and off - on the BHS site, www.horseaccidents.org.

The BHS reports the statistics to the government and, one hopes, action is taken. The BHS might have some information that would support your case?

BDS North East Wales is working to improve horse and carriage driver safety on the roads in North East Wales and Wales
This survey is to find out how many people carriage drive, type of turnout, length of time driving on the public highway accidents or near misses that been had whilst carriage driving on the roads. The information gathered will be presented to the Welsh Government to prove that in Wales we need more safe off road carriage driving routes
