Hopefully this situation will not happen again, but really, it is your decision as to an event going ahead or not. An event can be organised, venue hire deposit paid (non - refundable mostly even when cancellation due to weather conditions) but if the entries are not submitted then there is only one financial decision that can be made, to cancel the event to save further losses. It seems to be the trend to leave entries until the very last minute or even after the closing date. (Not only at Indoor events but all equestrian events seem to suffer with this!) which is very distressing for the event organiser who puts in a lot of time and energy, only to find there is not the interest in the event in question. So please get your entry sent well before the closing date, in some areas you may miss out all together as entries close early when the maximum number of competitors has been reached. If you enter on-line and the event has to be cancelled your entry can be refunded or transferred to the next available event. | ||

Sorry to hear you are all so disappointed. However arena hire costs are very high and a loss cannot be made. I have always accepted payment on the day, it just needs a quick phone call or email to show you are wanting to attend. At the time of making the decision I had only received 1entry and 2 other on line entries came through after the decision had been posted on this forum. I'm sad to see that all of you who have posted comments here have not put your names - I would have phoned you and discussed the decision with you personally, Judy Broom | ||

£35 entry , £35 to join Indoor driving... Diesel in lorry. That's an expensive month for the event to be cancelled. | ||

How disappointing to start the new season with a cancellation, I heard on the grapevine that it was due to lack of entries, even more disappointing if this is the case as the 10 day deadline hasn't been reached yet. I know a few people who were going to enter but were waiting a bit closer to the time for reasons such as pay day. | ||

Due to unforseen circumstances the event for 13th October is cancelled. We will go ahead as planned for Saturday 9th November and look forward to seeing you all there. Judy Broom |
