The test being used this season was the test used at the Finals last season, those of you that have been to Keysoe know that the entry to the arena is from the side and the test was written with that in mind, and time was allowed for the entry, there is plenty of time to do this at the Finals but not so at qualifying events. Some areas have large entries and yes those few strides of trot DO make all the difference, in fact at a recent event in the var/www area we were running ahead of time, at the previous event we were 15 minutes behind time, and those of you that have competed in the var/www area will know we run to time. The reason we start WT at D is so that animals enter the school calmly at walk, which often is darker inside than out, if the WT starts at A then some competitors will be trotting in the horsebox park to get to A at a good WT. This is a matter of safety.

Good Morning all. Newbee here. Have just tried the Test Number 11 and still went along as if riding the test down the centre line. Talk about auto pilot. Nerves I think. Now we have a change. Had little room to start with at wix, is this a good idea? Might as well say start at working trot from A, its only a matter of 4 strides?

The P&P TEST No.11 being used this season has been amended in movement 1. Enter at walk - Working Trot at L. Should now read: Enter at Walk - Working Trot at D.

OK but why?

I don’t understand what difference a couple of metres makes.

Alan
