Hi Rosie I'm sure you'll be welcome to spectate - spectators are welcome at all events - with luck someone from Merrist Wood will spot your posting and give you any more info. They usually post their times on the Anouncements thread - last time they started at 8.30am. Best time to arrive depends which phase and classes interest you most - the class order will be posted, the competition order is dressage+cones (morning or so) obstacles (afternoon or so). Don't know if there are any fells there but they're quite popular for driving, plenty of them about and doing well. If you need a contact, the Merrist Wood organiser is Dick Lane, Shooters Rest, Rowley Drive, Cranleigh, Surrey. Tel: 01483 276936 |

I have been driving for several years now, but only recently discovered the draw of driving trials when looking for my next move having lost my pony to cancer. As yet I am unable to replace her, but hope to do so in the next year, and aim to start competing as soon as possible. I would really like to spectate at Merrist Wood next weekend (11 Feb), but would like to know if this is ok, and what the best time to arrive is. Also, does anyone who is competing there happen to drive fells? I am particularly interested in these guys, but would like to know more about their potetial, given a predominance of Welshes! Thanks for reading, Rosie |
