Hi, Julie, you can get perfectly practical stopwatches from eBay, from about £1.99 each.

[For anyone new to hdt, you need at least two for your backstepper to use in a competition, one for timing the sections and the second for timing hold-ups or to use as a back-up.]

Or you can get elegant large-digit competition watches from Bennington Carriages and Jack in a box, with/without a carriage mounting, from £38.

Remember that you can download Mike Watts' free HDT section time calculator from his website, www.mikewatts.com. This will calculate the time when you should be passing each km marker.

Hi, Can anyone recommend a good watch/timer for a backstepper (for training and marathon timing)?
