From the Directors of the Indoor Carriage Driving Company. There have been some rather bitter exchanges on the forum in the past two days, all written anonymously. When we set up the Company to organise and run these events our main consideration was the pleasure of the competitors; producing a relaxed and enjoyable sport which was safe, appealed to both rank novice and advanced competitor, and was run by volunteers. The regional organisers give a huge amount of time and effort for no financial reward at all, finding venues, and arranging the events. They rely on the timely support of the competitors who, generally speaking, appreciate the efforts of this small band of people. Inevitably there will be the odd misunderstanding, even personality clashes, which soon blow over. However, complaining anonymously on the forum is not really an effective way of managing the situation. The Directors are all available to be complained to, our e-mail addresses are all published, and we take your complaints seriously. We understand, and have experience of constructive criticism. However, we cannot respond to anonymous tirades. To save everyone's blushes, we should now like to draw a line under what has passed. If you still feel aggrieved, then write to one or all of us. You will be treated with the same courtesy you give to us, and you will be listened to. As part of our commitment to openness, we are asking the webmaster to remove the 'anonymous' facility. We hope that this will make it easier for all concerned in future when venting their spleen. We certainly don't want to stop anyone speaking out, but it is not unreasonable that when there is criticism, we know who, and why and the background to it. The Directors (info@indoordriving.com) |
