Alison,
The Juniors and Novices do a slightly easier dressage test and also shorter obstacles 1 & 2 [their obstacles 3-4 are the open obstacles 1-2 if you want to compare times)
...so the total scores aren't directly comparable.
I think IHDT decided to design the competition like this so they could have the different tests/obstacles, and so decided to take the supreme champion from the open or multiple classes who all do the same competition with same tests (and same dressage judges).

I unfortunately didnt get to go to Keysoe this year however as soon as it had finished i checked the results on the internet and was very pleased to see that James Broome had become Supreme Champion. I also looked at the overall results and noticed that Colin Wheeler had an overall score of 145.87 and James Broome had a score of 151.14. I checked these results on further websites and they were the same so i was just wondering how this came to be as i thought Supreme Champion had the best overall score of the winners.
