My MG B does OK on pneumatics and wire wheels, they have not buckled or collapsed yet. I bet it goes a bit faster in turns than a horse drawn cart. Geoff |

Pneumatic tyres are allowed for indoor driving as long as they are not on wire spoked wheels as this type of wheel is likely to buckle/collapse under the strain of fast turns, which could result in injury to horse/driver/stewards. Not a good idea!! |

When you want to get started it's a good idea to talk to your local organiser; they can confirm any issues whether about vehicles or anything else connected - phone numbers on this website - and are keen to help people into the sport. |

Yes, we're keen to make it as easy as possible for people to take part, so there's no problem with pneumatic tyres in indoor driving vehicles, exercise vehicles are fine, 2 or 4 wheels. To be fair to everyone we specify a minimum width (ground level, back axle 125cm) though even this we waive for people starting in club class, and the vehicle has to carry a driver and groom. The vehicle rule says: 8.2 Vehicles will be of a marathon type, pneumatic tyres are permitted but scurry vehicles are NOT permitted. Minimum weights do not apply but all vehicles must be of a construction suitable for the competition. Minimum widths for all phases of the competition = 125cm. |

are these allowed in IHDT? I went to my first event as a spectator on sunday and saw someone with a what looked like a two wheel ex cart - everyone else had marathon vehicles. unfortunately i am not in the position to buy an extra vehicle/ |
