** Equine Influenza **

Due to the recent National news & current situation regarding Equine Influenza (EI), please be prepared to follow some rules at Golden Cross this coming Saturday:

1. ALL competitors MUST present the passport of the equines being driven to Hilly BEFORE unloading the animal off the lorry / trailer. NO EXCEPTIONS.

2. Please do not embarrass organisers by bringing an equine to the event without an up-to-date passport, you WILL NOT be allowed to compete.

3. If your horse has shown any of the signs listed below before the event, please do not bring them to the event.

Equine Influenza Symptoms (non-exhaustive):

• A very high temperature of 39-41C (103-106F) which lasts for one to three days
• A frequent harsh, dry cough that can last for several weeks
• A clear, watery nasal discharge that may become thick and yellow or green
• Enlarged glands under the lower jaw
• Clear discharge from the eyes and redness around eyes
• Depression and loss of appetite
• Filling of the lower limbs

It is YOUR choice whether you want to compete, please be extremely aware & conscientious about animal contact and sharing equipment.

I will be talking to Golden Cross today.
