Let's face it, we have been very well supported by Strongid-P, who have sponsored the events since their inception, and without whom this sport might have just remained another (very) good idea. Strongid-P have not been what you might describe as a demanding sponsor, far from it. For our part, we have kept faith, making sure that no event went unbranded, and that their name was in all our literature and every advertisement.
I know my colleagues keep them informed, and we always welcome them to every event they attend. All of us, competitors, organisers and helpers have a great deal to thank Strongid-P for.
But we have to accept that the one sponsor may feel that they have been supporting us for long enough. How many other sports get the same sponsor year after year? Strongid-P have been incredibly generous, and therefore we should not take them for granted. Nor should we be too surprised if they decide that they have held the ring for long enough. Not that any indication has ever been given in any way. But we should be aware that without the level of financial committment we have been given, the sport cannot survive.
What would we do then?
