Rule 2.4.7 in the rules here https://www.indoordriving.co.uk/pdf/IHDTUKRulesSep08.pdf
say you move up from novice to open having competed in Open or Intermediateclasses in BHDTA
national horse driving trials competitions or open classes in IHDT competitions or who
have finished in the top 50% of competitors in a Novice class at a National Indoor
Horse Driving Trials Final in either of the previous two seasons.

Therfore a club one day event win would not promote you to open in indoor events

Please can someone advise me at what stage a novice has to move up to the open class, and if winning a novice class at a One Day event counts for indoor events.
