Thanks Fiona, this class is definately for me! . This will be my first driven comp (hopefully november 1st) and I'm very nervous, partly in case my 11yr old daughter beats me as she will compete too we hope! I just need to join us up now and there'll be no excuses |

Hi, club class was introduced in East Anglia and Forest Edge particularly for newcomers, to give a chance to gain experience within a similar group (= more fun!) and also for drivers bringing out young or inexperienced ponies/horses (instead of going h/c). (My original idea was to split the novice pony class, usually the largest group, so that everyone in it gets a chance to take var/www a rosette - which a lot of people like.) Club is not a championship qualifier class. I run it as self-selecting, that is, you can enter it if you wish, driving any turnout and non-standard-width carriages (by agreement). In EA we have a special club points league and trophy. Usually people enter club for a season or two before going into novice. Hope this helps? I'm not sure if any other areas have a club class. |
